Miscellaneous: UK edition on Harvest, catalog number SHSM 2016, released in 1987. Stereo reissue of the debut album, originally released in 1968. This release features the so-called “dismembered doll-limb” cover, which was withdrawn shortly after its release.

Special feature: The cover features different artwork that was originally intended for an earlier release. The version released in 1987 was immediately withdrawn and is significantly rarer than the standard cover version of this Harvest edition.

For collectors: An unusual and well-documented variant of *Shades of Deep Purple*, particularly because of its recessed cover. An interesting release for collectors of Deep Purple and British Harvest releases.
