We have been collecting records for over 40 years. LPs are a passion of ours. Part of this passion is that the records are professionally washed and provided with a new inner sleeve. Even with careful checking of the acoustic state of a vinyl record, it cannot be guaranteed that the record will sound exactly the same on all other devices. Deviations are always possible. Also note that in the US and Europe, the same terms are used differently regarding the quality rating of records. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is important that the records are carefully checked and honestly evaluated. If in doubt, please inquire before purchasing, how the condition could be better described or if there are more images available.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We know three different record grading systems: Record Collector Magazine\u00a0 –\u00a0U.K. Goldmine The Music Collector’s Magazine – US – Oldie Markt – DE<\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the records are really playing in MINT quality<\/span>

We\u00a0firstly grade\u00a0the record and secondly the cover appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Still Sealed (SS)<\/strong><\/h4>\n

STILL SEALED – means brandnew !<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Mint (M)<\/strong><\/h4>\n

VINYL: <\/strong>This record is absolutely perfect in all quality aspects. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks.
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

COVER: <\/span><\/strong>The cover (no cut out) and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.<\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Near Mint (NM or M-)
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

VINYL: <\/strong>This is a nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. Absolute minor scuff and very slight other wear signs can appear on the vinyl. (light scratches, scuffs) This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve but obviously it had been handled with extreme care. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw should be very hard to see.<\/span><\/p>\n

COVER: <\/strong>The cover should have no more than absolute minor defects. And of course, the same should be true of any other inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves and the like. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Very Good + (VG+)
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

VINYL: <\/strong>A “VG+” record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are “OK”. <\/span><\/p>\n

COVER: <\/strong>A cover may also have slight signs of wear and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount price. In general, if not for a couple of minor defects this would be a Near Mint.
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Very Good (VG)
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

VINYL: <\/strong>Many of the defects found in a\u00a0“VG+” record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Writing may mar labels, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. (woc, wol) <\/span><\/p>\n

COVER: <\/strong>The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. (Normal wear and tear, sticker etc.) However, it will not have all of these defects at the same time, only two or three of them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Good (G)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

VINYL: <\/strong>The record has often been played so that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps by some distortion and mild scratches. <\/span><\/p>\n

COVER: <\/strong>The cover and contents have suffered from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

+\/-<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The plus\/minus abbreviations are attached to one of the above quality level criteria\u2019s if the record or cover cannot be clearly assigned to the respective quality levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nRE\/RI <\/strong>– re-issue, <\/strong>re-release
\nRE \/R<\/strong> – repress\/Nachpressung
\n2nd<\/strong> – second pressing\/2. Pressung
\nOIS<\/strong> – Original Inner Sleeve\/Originale Innenh\u00fclle
\nq<\/strong> – quadrophonic\/Quadro-Aufnahme
\ncc<\/strong> – cut corner\/LP Cover Ecke ist abgeschnitten
\nco<\/strong> – cut out\/LP Cover hat einen Einschnitt
\ncoh<\/strong> – cut out hole\/Loch im Cover
